MY STORY

Who I Am

Since I began my professional journey I’ve been lucky to have had the opportunity to collaborate on some exciting construction projects. 

Throughout my career I have been involved heavily in both safety and vocational training.  I have managed state level operations for a registered training organisation and developed an understanding of traineeships and government funded learning.

I have served as a health and safety professional on a number of construction projects as well as for local and state government. My early years were spent in the RAAF managing logistics, aircraft loading teams, hazardous goods, aviation fuel and explosives.

I am a dedicated team player who focuses on strategic vision and sound leadership which lead to safety cultural change. I have demonstrated political nous having worked with various state ministers to achieve favourable outcomes and having been involved in senior level policy workshops. 

My experience and skills gained over decades in a mix of construction industry and government can be applied to many roles.  Working in safety has allowed me to hone my research and investigative skills as well as allowing me to build networks with industry professionals.

Working in the volunteer emergency services has meant that I have developed crisis management skills and have provided leadership to upwards of 50 personnel in an operational environment. This has given me insight into the behaviours and motivations of a dynamic and diverse workforce while strengthening my resolve to ensure a workplace that is built on equity, loyalty and integrity.

I  acknowledge the importance of strengthening and building construction industry skills with a goal of developing partnerships with all stakeholders to keep people safe. This includes personal development to retain and improve on workplace skills.
